Role in Project
FZSoNick participates to the SMHYLES project supplying batteries for a Hybrid electric energy storage solution for grid support and charging infrastructure (HORIZON).
The scope of the project is to develop a «NEW Aqueous Salt-based Hybrid Energy Storage System» (SHESS) composed of a container of ST523 batteries and an Aqueous supercapacitor developed by a project partner, on the Island of Graziosa (Azores, Portugal).
The design of the system involves the introduction of innovations at the FW and HW level in relation to the battery BMS for effective integration into the system. The application requires the development and supply of a modular battery solution within a container,for which all mechanical and electrical architecture will be designed (layout drawings, electrical diagrams, construction drawings).

Other Application Successes : Tilos _ Part of Horizon 2020 Project
FZSONICK was part of the pioneering European Research Project Horizon 2020 to build and now operating the Hybrid Power System S4S Tilos.
The new hybrid stations contribute to:
